Volunteer Opportunities

Are you looking to give back to your community?  Aging Ahead has many different opportunities to get you involved and help serve the seniors in your neighborhood.  Relationships are built and friendships are formed when you volunteer.  Do your part, join others in the community serving older adults.  Senior Center volunteer opportunities are available Monday- Friday with as little of a commitment as 1 day per week.

Senior Center Opportunities

Meals on Wheels drivers deliver hot, nutritious meals to home-bound seniors in our community.

Exercise Instructors help seniors stay fit by instructing various classes one or two days per week, and training can be provided.

Activities Instructors help our senior centers with daily, weekly or monthly activities such as computer classes, arts and crafts, or dance classes.

Front Desk help is needed to answer phones, record reservations and cancellations, assist with counting daily contributions, help maintain sign-in sheets and welcome seniors to the center.

Senior Outreach and Support (SOS) Telephone Reassurance assistant will call older adults who live alone to check on their well-being.  A short phone call can make a big difference in someone’s life.

Food Service helps assist the staff in the preparation, serving and/or cleaning up after a noon meal.

Senior Center Support Committee assists local Aging Ahead senior centers with providing additional activities, celebrations and recognition events. Members are elected at the senior centers.
