44 million beneficiaries, about 15% of US population, are enrolled in the Medicare program. Only 1 in 10 beneficiaries relies solely on the Medicare Program for health care coverage; the rest have some form of supplemental coverage to help with medical expenses.
Have Medicare questions? During open enrollment you can make changes to your current plan. Open enrollment starts October 15th and continues through December 7, 2017. If you signed up between these dates your coverage will start January 1st, 2018. Medicare health and drug plans can change each year– things like cost, coverage and what providers and pharmacies are in their networks.
